The 21st century is a century of skill and knowledge; professionals who have special skills or have the right knowledge and know the right way to apply them, are grossly inaccurate when ITIs are rated lower than other technical courses. In today's rising unemployment, the right skill sets and training ITI students have more opportunities for destined employment for candidates with higher educational qualifications.
Now, if it comes to career opportunities, then students of ITI have mainly two options. First either go for higher education or search for a job.
Further Study Options for ITI students

There are many engineering diploma courses available for those students who have undergone ITI training in technical business or engineering domain. In contrast to ITI courses, in the diploma engineering course domain, the emphasis is given on the description of both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject.
Specialized Short Term Courses
For ITI students from certain trades, the Advanced Training Institute (ATI) offers specialized short-term courses. These courses help the students to enhance their skills more, in this related domain, their job profile or industry requirements can be easily met.
All India Trade Test
After the completion of the ITI course, another option for ITI students is to go for AITT or All India Trade Test. The All India Trade Test is conducted by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training). This exam is virtually a skill test which certifies ITI students. After passing AITT, students are awarded the National Business Certificate (NTC) by NCVT in the respective trade. NTC diploma is equivalent to a degree in many engineering trades.

Like other professional and professional course institutes, ITI also has a dedicated placement cell which looks after the placement of the students. In these placement cells, various government organizations, private companies and even foreign companies are tied up under which students are hired in many businesses and trades.
